How does group-buying work?

Our group-buying scheme works by grouping residents from across the country together and acting as an intermediary for the buyers to increase their bargaining power.

Our process

  1. Register without obligation
When you register online, you will be asked a few questions about your house. Using industry or local averages, we can estimate the most suitable size for your heat pump and hot water cylinder. The installer will confirm this selection during an on-site survey at a later stage to further tailor the product to your specific requirements.

  2. Vetted installers compete
Vetted installers will compete by bidding to work with you and offer their most competitive price for a high-quality heat pump installation.

  3. Personal Offer
After the auction, you will receive a personal offer that includes information about the winning installer, a complete system, costs, and savings. This information is for you to consider. If you have more questions, you can always contact the Switch Together Helpdesk.

  4. You decide
After you have received your personal offer, you will need to decide whether you want to accept it or not. When you are ready to make a decision, you can accept or decline your personal recommendation. If you choose to go ahead and accept with Switch Together, we will ask you for a £300 deposit. This deposit is conditionally refundable; more information can be found in our deposit conditions.

  5. Tailored installation
If you decide to proceed, the installer will book a survey and complete the installation.

  6. On-site survey
The installer will contact you to schedule an on-site survey, where an engineer will visit your home to assess its unique characteristics thoroughly. Once the data is processed and a heat loss calculation is completed, you'll receive clear information about the specific requirements of your installation so you can proceed with confidence.

  7. Installation
During the installation, the installer will position the new heat pump, remove your old heating system, and flush your pipes and radiators. If any radiator upgrades are needed, they'll be completed at this stage. The new heat pump will then be connected to your pipes, and control systems will be installed. Afterwards, the installer will perform final checks to ensure everything is working correctly.

  8. Warm and cosy home
Once the installation is complete, you can look forward to enjoying a warm and cosy home perfectly tailored to your needs. Your new heating system is designed to provide consistent comfort, ensuring your home remains energy-efficient throughout the year.
